Description
Simple Lamination with a Window Lamination of paper and box-based packaging products and articles is done by machine using a combination of plain film and cold (water-based) adhesive.
It is employed for film lamination using polyester, PVC, and BOPP. Because BOPP is readily available and environmentally friendly, it has historically been the most used film in the packaging and printing industries.
Today, the window application is very relevant and helpful for enhancing the product’s marketing and consumer appeal. These days, it is used in consumer electronics, consumables (pens, sarees, dress materials, candles, clothes), and food (bakery, sweets).
The fundamental idea behind both plain and window is the same, but their gumming applications differ. In a typical plain lamination process, the gum enters the film through the gum section at the top, and pressure is used to help paste the film onto paper or board.
Gum is applied on paper or board, and film is applied on board in the window application process. The gum section is located beneath the feeding section, and printed articles are fed to the machine inverted (printed side down). Please be aware that in order to truly utilize the window process, the paper or board needs to be window cut before applying, and clear film paste keeps the cut area clear and clean.
